The ASC Celebrates a Successful Encounter with Conflict Transformation

The ACTION Support Centre-ASC celebrates a successful Encounter with Conflict Transformation. The Conflict Transformation Encounter, was held on Saturday 18th of October at the Bosco Centre in Walkerville. It was a fascinating day of real-life experience sharing from over 18 African countries and a series of healing events. More than 200 activists gathered for this event.

The Encounter consisted of workshops and presentations exploring the conflict transformationapproach to peacebuilding, and it’s relevance to global peace and security issues. The attendance by more than 200 delegates and speakers from over 18 countries presented examples of how conflict transformation makes sense across multiple contexts. Local Peace Committee members from Alexandra, Orange Farm and Soweto as well as members of the South African Somali Women’s Network also attend attended this event.

A Declaration of solidarity, to be released soon, will form part of ASC’s ongoing effort around Conflict Transformation and people-to-people solidarity work.
