Drums of Change Call for Articles: The Transformative Potential of the Post 2015 Development Agenda

Celebrating UN Day in Darfur

With 2015 now upon us, we have reached the final and exciting stage in which the Post 2015 development agenda will be consolidated. There are still many questions and hot debates surrounding the new set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), so we are kicking off this year’s Drums of Change with an issue devoted entirely to the Post 2015 development agenda.

This issue will be focused on the negotiation process around establishing the Post 2015 development agenda. Specifically the ASC is interested in exploring the transformative potential of the envisaged global development goals, and highlighting the challenges, obstacles and opportunities for tapping into this transformative potential. We are particularly interested in the inclusion of a strong focus on peace and human security and in shifting current developmental power relations.

We are looking for articles that will help our readers to understand the terrain within which the Post 2015 discussions are taking place and that will assist in initiating a deeper exploration of what Post 2015 might mean for developing countries, collaborative development efforts and communities that will be affected by the implementation of the Post 2015 agenda.

If you are interested in submitting an article, please email lerato@asc.org.za or jennifer@asc.org.za for further details.

The deadline for article submissions is the 13th of February 2015
