ACTION’s joyous experience in serving others
The ACTION Support Centre team honored the life’s work and legacy of Madiba on the 17th of July 2015. By taking action to engage in making a change for the betterment of all humankind, we served 67 minutes of keeping it clean for children with Cerebral Palsy (CP) at the Malamulele Onward that is based in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. The ACTION team was esteemed to being a part of an inspirational cause that even if in a small way, impacted positively in the lives of the children. By lending a hand to an organization that invests in children that have a permanent movement disorder, we assisted in the cleaning of equipment such as wheelchairs, buggies and standing frames that had been in storage for a year and that had not been used by the children. After volunteering our hands for just 67 minutes, we were able to make this equipment available to the children based at the organization as well as to those living in rural communities. This was a joyous experience in assisting the cause of the organization, which is to create a safe environment for children with CP. Thus in the spirit of celebrating Mandela day, we were reminded of Tate Mandiba’s inspiring words; “Together as a nation, we have the obligation to put sunshine into the hearts of our little ones. They are our precious possessions. They deserve what happiness life can offer.”
